ACRN strives to provide a healthy and supportive environment in which our residents can thrive. Our team will work closely with each resident to ensure we develop and support a plan that is unique to each individual and their specific needs. Constantly growing our network of community services and organizations means that together, we can navigate the continuum of care as a team. Specific areas of focus and support include:

Therapeutic skills development

Clinical services are a vital component of true and lasting recovery. Substance use disorder is often accompanied by co-occuring mental health challenges. We help members identify attitudes and beliefs, unhealthy emotions (unhealthy anger, depression, anxiety, guilt, shame, etc.), and maladaptive behaviors (procrastination, addictive behaviors, aggression, unhealthy eating, sleep disturbance, etc.) that correlate to substance use and give them a framework to change. ACRN will work alongside our residents to identify clinical providers skilled in navigating complex clinical needs that might include:

  • Thinking Errors (blaming, catastrophizing, mind reading, all or nothing thinking, etc.)

  • Distortions (personalization, overgeneralization, jumping to conclusions, victim stance, etc.)

  • Triggers (people, places, and things)

  • Trauma

Provide daily structure

Structure is vital for success in daily living for everyone, not just those struggling with addiction. Our sober living homes provide guidance and support for those who might be learning the fundamentals of daily living for the first time and those who might only need minimal guidance. Living in a predictable and stable environment provides the foundation from which recovery work can be done. Working closely with our community partners can provide structured support that might include:

  • Daily schedule reviews and time management support

  • Random job visits

  • Random sobriety checks

  • Individual coaching

  • Workshops

  • Completing college or vocational training applications

  • Employment coaching including resume development and interview preparation

  • Support/Reference Letters

  • Resolving outstanding credit or billing issues

  • Financial responsibility tasks such as taxes, identification, insurance, and credit monitoring

  • Workshops (gardening, woodworking, trade skills, expert panels, etc.)

  • Completing medical insurance paperwork

  • Coordination of medical, dental, therapy, and psychiatric services
